How to get the best deal on an RV rental

Monday, August 14th, 2017

Sometimes the road calls your name and a road trip must be taken! Renting an RV is an affordable and comfortable way to take a trip with your family or a group of friends. Getting a great deal on an RV can be done with a few simple tips and tricks of the trade.

Cheap RV rentals are out there, we promise!

How to get the best rv deal

Vacation during the off season.

Summer months are the hot months. June, July and August are not only busy for RV’s but all of the tourist destinations are buzzing with people as well.

Find a one way rental.

One way RV rentals, if booked early enough, are a great way to save some money without having to back track. You get the most bang for your buck, sights to see, without having to sacrifice time to drop off your RV back to it’s original location. Check for one way rental special if you can book before January 31 for the upcoming year. You can often find 50% off in select locations!

Book your trip early.

Many companies offer great discounts if your trip is booked before January 31 and sometimes extend discounts and early bird RV rental specials to March 31. Look for unlimited milage specials, upgraded convenience kits, and one way specials. Planning early is key to booking your cheap RV rental.

Smaller RV’s are cheaper.

The bigger the RV the more expensive it is all around. From cost of rental to fuel. If you can handle a smaller space, save some money by down sizing. And while you’re driving around, if you stay around the 55 mph mark you’ll save in fuel economy as well.

RV in San Francisco

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

If you decide to pick-up your RV in San Francisco, make sure to see the city if only for a short time and it will leave you wanting more! Shaky Town is one of the friendliest and artsiest city in the US. Here are five things to do:

Golden Gate Bridge

This famous bridge is possibly the most well-known thing about San Francisco, and it merits a visit for sure. Put on sunscreen for a walk across the famous bridge or else you will end up with an asymmetrical burn, still worth it though!

Fisherman’s Wharf / Pier 39

Here is a little bit of everything San Francisco has to offer. Shopping, great sweet and savoury food, street performers, museums, art galleries, and a chance to see the sea lions that hang out on the rocky shore.

Alcatraz Island

The famous former prison is definitely worth a visit. Transportation to the island is by ferry, and once arrived you receive a head set and a tap to listen to the tour at your leisure. The story about the prison escape is the most interesting. Outside you can walk around the island and enjoy the grounds. A truly unique and eerie National Historic Landmark.

Lands’ End

This little slice of heaven feels completely isolated from the city and you have a less touristy, more authentic experience. There are hiking trails nestled against a rugged coastline with hidden gems such as Sutro bath and a cave. Located on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge, it provides awesome views of the city and the bridge, especially from the Cliff House Bar. It gets chilly by the water so dress in layers!

Golden Gate Park

The Golden Gate Park has plenty of attractions to offer but if you are short on time I would recommend the trio of the Japanese Tea Garden, California Academy of Sciences, and the De Young (fine arts) museum, all located in the Music Concourse Area. These are connected by an open-air plaza that is often filled with street performers and artists.

While in San Francisco immerse yourself by travelling short distances by Cable Car and striking up a conversation with a friendly local!
